2018 Albarino Receives 'Best in Class' and "Double Gold" Medal

Updated: Jun 7, 2020

We are pleased to announce that StoneRiver Vineyards' 2018 Albarino was the recipient of a "Double Gold Medal" and “Best in Class” honors with "97 points" at the 2020 East Meets West Wine Challenge. Our 2017 Albarino received a "Gold Medal" at the 2019 West Coast Wine Competition.

Both vintages are limited production vintages from our Albarino test block planted in 2013. {2017 Albarino production = 40 cases; 2018 Albarino production = 35 cases}. We invite our customers to come by our Tasting Room and experience 2 really great Albarinos. These two wines are also available from our online Wine Shop and through our Wine Club.

Albarino (Alvarinho) is a green-skinned grape variety native to Galicia on the north Atlantic coast of Spain. Both vintages are crisp and refreshing whites that are excellent on their own or when paired with a variety of foods.

Note: StoneRiver Vineyards planted an additional 1/2 acre of Albarino vines in 2018 and anticipate first production in 2021.
